Job Searching on the Internet on Wednesday June 1 at 6pm at South Holiday

Jobs Workshops @ the Library - The Pasco County Library will offer hands-on job searching workshops this summer. Each participant will have an opportunity to find job listings online, fill-in online applications, and prepare online resumes. One-on-one assistance will be provided.

South Holiday is an Early Voting Location

Voting in the general (midterm) election starts Monday, October 18th.  A qualified voter may vote in-person at various locations throughout Pasco County, including here in the South Holiday Library Meeting Room.  The voter must present both photograph and signature identification.  A Florida driver's license or identification card will meet both of those requirements.

General Election Schedule

Monday October 18th – Friday October 22nd, 10am – 6pm

Saturday October 23rd, 9am – 5pm

Monday October 25th – Friday October 29th, 10am – 6pm

Saturday October 30th, 9am – 5pm

Business Networking Breakfast - Friday 7/23

This summer, the Pasco County Library System will be hosting a series of networking breakfasts for the business community. If you own a business and are interested in making new contacts and learning more about the resources available to you as a business owner in Pasco County, join us for the business networking breakfast at South Holiday Library! Agencies represented at the breakfasts include the Small Business Development Center, the Pasco County Economic Development Council, and local Chambers of Commerce, among others.

Attendees are invited to enjoy a light breakfast of bagels, donuts, fruit, juice and coffee provided by the Friends of the Library. The breakfast will be offered at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, July 23 in the meeting room of the South Holiday Library.

Internet: What's in it for you - for Seniors , Thursday, February 25 @ 2:00 p.m.

The Internet opens doors to all types of information and modes of communication. E-government (electronic government) is a perfect example of this. The amount of information and services provided via the Internet is growing exponentially. Families who live miles apart can communicate daily via Skype, email, Facebook, and MySpace. Videos and pictures of new babies, weddings and anniversaries can be shared almost instantaneously. Join us at your local library as we explore: why you would want to know how to navigate the Internet, places you can go to learn how to use a computer, and the many of the wonderful services and programs that will be at the end of your fingertips once you learn to use a computer to navigate the Internet.

Am I eligible or Do I qualify?

Are you wondering if you qualify for benefits?

One way to find out is to apply and let the agency determine if you are eligible. Some agencies provide you information so you can determine this yourself. For example, the Access Florida website has a pre-screening tool that you can use to help you determine if you qualify. Other agencies provide you with the eligibility criteria so that you can compare your income to their criteria. For example, the SafeLink "How to Qualify" website provides information regarding eligibility including letting you know that your total household income must be at or below 135% of the poverty guidelines set by your State and/or the Federal Government to qualify. The Florida KidCare website also provides eligibility guidelines. Most government websites will provide you with eligibility information.

Also, remember if you are denied benefits, most agencies have a method for you to appeal the decision. Generally, this information is sent to you when you receive your eligibility notice.
